Hey @DHorning,

Sorry to see this has been happening to you! It's definitely not expected behaviour.

Could you try removing your cached data to see if that makes a difference?
In case the issue persists, you can go for a complete clean reinstall of the app instead.

If even that doesn't help, let us know what your device and its OS version are, as well as your Spotify app version, and we'll gladly take a further look into this 🙂
Hope this helps!

I am also having this exact problem. I have cleared the cache, cleared storage data, uninstalled and reinstalled but the app still keeps crashing. I am on Android v18, Spotify v8.9.84.594

Hey @saymyname89,

Thanks for reaching out.

It looks like there's a newer app version available. Make sure to update your app directly from the store or perform a clean reinstall with these steps so you can get the latest version.

If you're still experiencing the issue, could you give it a try using a different device to see if anything changes?

We'll be on the lookout.

Thanks @novy.

It is still happening after following all the steps mentioned. Its defiantly frustrating. Is there anything else to try?

Thanks

Hey @saymyname89,

Thanks for the cooperation!

Just to confirm - is the app itself crashing when you open it or is the music playback stopping? Is your device connected to an external one when this is happening, for example a speaker or headphones? If yes, try unpairing them and connecting them again afterwards to see if that makes a difference.

Another thing you can do is to manually reboot your device by long-pressing the power button. You also mentioned trying all of the suggested steps so far, so just to double-check - have you tried logging in on a different device and is the same thing happening? It's also worth asking someone to log in their account on your device to rule out if this is device- or account-related.

Keep us posted.
