Denon avr3400 and Asus router Spotify connect not working

Hi team I have installed a new Adsl modem router in the Asus ac56U and my denon avr 3400h connects fine to it wirelessly. When I try to play via Spotify connect on my android it simply says "connecting..." for about five seconds and then nothing happens. It was working fine on my old netgear modem router but not on this and there is nothing else different. I reset and updated firmware for everything and reinstalled all apps. Will connecting the amp via ethernet make a difference? I don't see this issue with chromecast devices. Any help would be unreal. Thanks

When this happens to me, I kill the Spotify app and reopen it. It usually solves the issue.
