Google Alarm clock plays the same songs

Google Alarm clock plays the same songs

Plan premium

Canada

Phone Google pixel 7

Phone very 14

Spotify ver 8.9.70.556

Tried logging out of my app and back in

Tried turning phone off and on

Tried reinstalling Spotify

Playlist has three less songs than 600 songs

I have the same issue I noticed when I set it for my alarm. It'll play the same song when I go to check it in Spotify. Smart shuffle is on

If I turn smart shuffle off and onto regular shuffle, it'll switch to one other song when I go back into my alarm app built into the phone and select my liked playlist shuffle will be off

Turning it back on reverts it back to the first song. Go back into the app. Turn smart shuffle off it reverts it back to the second song. Then when I go back in shuffle will be off

Mind you I am also closing the app in between switching it. I've also found by closing the app while it is playing will sometimes also continue the app to play music even when the app has been closed both in the alarm app and the Spotify app in general

Only way I can get different songs to play is if I pick different playlists but they still have the same issue of cycling between two songs or turning off shuffle. If it's regular shuffle smart shuffle plays the. Same song every time.

I even tested by setting my alarm app to go off in minute intervals for at least 5 minutes. Continue to play the same song even with smart shuffle on or regular shuffle on which for some reason automatically turns off.

I've also tried to post on the support forms multiple times. I spend 5 minutes typing something out just to have it deleted. Get given an error code. And each time I'm given an error code and told to find support for that issue

Hey @Donavin1994,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! Heads up: I've moved your post as separate since the issue you're describing seems different than the one originally reported in the previous thread you posted in.

Have you tried setting another playlist as your alarm in the Google Clock app to see if you'd get a random song then? If possible, try asking someone (a friend or a relative will do) who uses Spotify to log in on your device to check if the same issue would occur. Something else that's worth trying is clearing the app cache & storage for Google Clock.

Let us know how it goes.
