How can I create a shorter spotify.link instead of open.spotify.com?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi there @avichand,
Thanks for reaching out. Spotify.link is currently in the experimental phase and is being tested with limited users. Perhaps the whole system will move over to that in future, but there's no way of knowing right now. There's also currently no way to switch between both. If you would like to share shorter links to songs, try using a URI instead as shown here.
Hope this helps.

I have been using bit.ly to shorten Spotify links for years, but this week when I tried it, bit.ly gave me a warning that spotify links are branded and can't be shortened by them. How can I shorten spotify links? Is there a way INSIDE Spotify to do it? I read a website that explained how to do it, but I think it was old because the instructions don't work.

Apparently the "spoti.fi" solution that was used by bit.ly and other services thanks to Spotify does not work anymore (as of July 25, Spotify updated their domain settings so that Spotify’s custom domain no longer point to any external domain). This is very annoying. The URL was so short, easily identifiable and it didn't need to go through any app. You could open it with your browser without any pop-up.
