yet another long time user here to say that I hate this. between this and the lack of DJ app integration, I might finally work up the nerve to switch to apple music. I refuse to receive ads on something I pay for, especially when aren't relevant to me and, inexplicably, there is no option to turn them off. it's just insulting.

I’m also receiving these ads for artists even though I have unfollowed and unliked all songs by the recommended artist.
I’ve already signed up for a trial of Apple Music and will not be extending my Spotify membership if it is not possible to disable these unavoidable ads.

These instructions did not help and I keep getting "Recommended for you" advertisements as a Premium member.

Premium used to mean no ads. Now I see that the it’s no longer the case. Podcast ads and these event ads are a dealbreaker.

It's crazy to think that Spotify has over 9000 employees but care so little about problems that users have. Absolutely beyond me.

This is not fixed, ive been getting this ads daily even after opting out. Talk about being greedy, raising the price of premium membership and still showing ads. The won't listen without a suit.

This doesn't fix the issue inside the app. When I open the app, I get a notification for concerts, which I want to turn off.

The only thing that works is stop using Spotify. They don’t give a **bleep** about users, they want this.

Running into the same annoyance. Definitely looking to migrate away after nine years of membership. Enough is enough.

@Vasil,

I am getting fewer in-app notifications, although my personal data is still being used to notify me of local concerts. This despite in-app notifications being switched off, disabling Tailored Ads, clearing my cache and restarting the app.

The last email I sent to the Spotify team assured me that I had reached the highest tier of Customer Support. Having followed up with supplementary questions, they no longer acknowledge or reply to my emails.

Rather than speculating about a solution, it might be more helpful for you to contact your developers to get a genuine understanding of how Direct Marketing notifications work.

It’s obvious that this is a company policy. Like it or not, they are going to keep pushing these ads uhhhh…recommendations and there is no way to disable it.

Spotify keeps suggesting a concert that I bought tickets to the moment they were on sale. It’s recommended I buy tickets every day since. They concert is in August, it’s March.

i WILL cancel premium before my next cycle if I can’t turn this off.

Same here. Tried opting out at least ten times….current app but this has happened over multiple versions.

This does not answer the solution and should not be an accepted answer.

That doesn't solve the problem at all! I pay for premium. Fck off with the ads!

That's not true. I have all turned off and they show up anyway.

I clicked your funny link and it shows that everything's already set to off. I still get spammed concert notifications like above. There is an issue.

At this point, my take is as follows :

1/ Spotify will not acknowledge the issue

2/ This is clearly targeted advertisement that we have no possibility to opt out of. It is blatantly illegal and contradictory to their own contractual obligations

My suggestion is to write to **bleep** while copying the mail to your local fraud AND data protection offices (or writing to Spotify and forwarding to your local authorities (maybe the European Commission too).

Opinions?

Your solution sucks. I keep getting these and cannot turn them off. How about an actual answer on how I turn off these ads in my app. Let users control how they experience things.

Same here on iOS. This really sucks. I tapped "Not interested" and got the "Ok, deactivated for all artists" overlay multiple times but they keep popping up.
