New spotify user here. Why is radio repeating songs so often by default, and is there a way to make it not repeat the same dozen or so songs over and over and over?
Even if this can be fixed by a change in settings, I'm shocked the default behavior is so bad.
I can't believe I have to go into a help forum to get the answer for this. I can't believe I had to set up an account on a separate website to get support. This is so 2010. They're not even trying.
Also, this bulletin board software is awful. It's giving me validation messages on fields I've already filled in. The validation messages aren't even accurate. Spotify does not seem to give a flying f about their customers.
PPS -- Oh my god, this software is so bad. I've spent several minutes trying to get this to post. I am astonished that a company with the resources of Spotify can't or won't do better on something as easy as help forum software.
Also the authorisation email does not send without going to the profile and clicking resend there must be a bug on this forum
the like/dislike button isn't solving the issue. I like the songs on my playlist's radio, since these are songs I listened to many times. The issue is that I have at least 500-1000 songs that I like and listen to many times, but somehow spotify ends up "shuffling" in the same ones for a week before it refreshes
Yep, same thing. It's not that I don't like the songs from the autoplay, it's just them playing again and again within an hour. I am sure there are so many songs within any single search from any song or artist that I won't be able to listen to them all within my life, so it's surely not a problem to discourage any already played song from popping up again in a radio in favor of something new, even though it may be further away by likeliness or otherwise considered unpopular.
There might be a slider setting, which determines whether you want recommendations to be as accurate to the source as possible, or you want to be more "adventurous".
4 years later and this is still an issue
August 2024 and this still is a problem. Hit a radio for a band and it just sprinkles their top 5 songs into a playlist of my top songs, nothing new and no new music to be discovered. So many ways Spotifys radio is boring. The algorithm is just set to 11 on being safe and 0 on risk taking.
@tolerant_user, Right on both counts. 4 years later and both the Spotify Radio and the bulliten board both suck. If you listen to a song more than three times it starts showing up accross all of your playlists. The more you listen to the radio, the worse it gets. The reponse to spotify is to "dislike" the songs you like, right. Please start applying AI, but for real. What you have is broken.
