I have noticed that some songs are clipped at 17 kHz and above. Why is that

I looked at the frequency spectrum of many songs and I noticed that many songs have a low-pass filter at 17 kHz. I was able to observe it at the best quality (320 kbit/s) both in the app and in the web player. Also, it seems that older songs are less often affected by this, so I think Spotify started to trim the songs at some point. Maybe to save storage space and streaming costs? That wouldn't be ok in any case, as I would at least like to have the full frequency spectrum of an already compressed format as a subscriber. I would appreciate an answer and clarification.
