My Question or Issue
I have 2 TCL Roku TVs. The lyrics are no longer in sync-the lyrics actually jump ahead so you cannot even see what is currently being sung.
I just noticed the timer telling you how long the song has been playing is a couple seconds (7 or 8 seconds or so) behind with my phone as well... weird...
Hey @High_on_Life,
Thanks for reaching out!
This is quite the odd issue - let's do some troubleshooting to hopefully resolve it 🙂 -
First off, let's try removing the app's cached data. To do so, follow the steps here.
If this doesn't help, check if using a different internet connection would yield the same results.
In case the issue persists on the mobile device, see if removing all Spotify-related data from the device would fix it. To see how to do this and to then reinstall the app, follow the steps for a complete clean reinstall of the app.
Let us know if this helps! If it does - check if there's a difference on the TV as well. If there isn't - see if your TV has any pending updates.
If necessary, try removing the Spotify app from the TV and reinstalling it there as well.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted 🙌🏼
Did the previous solution work? I have the same problem. my TV is a QLED 2024 from Samsung
Hey @Dih560,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.
Just to be on the same page, would you mind confirming if you've tried the troubleshooting mentioned by @Vasil? If not, give it a try to see if it makes any difference.
If the issue persists, could you check with a different network connection? If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
I tried the steps provided in here, but it's still not in sync.
Hey @High_on_Life,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
To continue investigating this issue, would you mind confirming if the delay happens with all songs you've tried or just specific ones?
Also, could you check if you have any crossfading option available on your app? If so, we'd recommend turning it off to see if it makes any difference.
Lastly, it would be great if you could record a short video where we can take a better look. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout.
Yeah, you've described what I've observed exactly. I'm trying to learn the German language, so synchronized lyrics on German songs is pretty important to developing listening comprehension. This problem basically makes my premium subscription worthless. I almost never use the app anymore because of it. I'm using a Roku Ultra and the problem has been continuous for me over the past 6 months to a year. Please, Spotify, fix the problem or I'll have to jump ship to a platform that works.
@Elise_, we should not be making excuses for poor performance. The app is supposed to display lyrics in sync with the song. Having to resort to workarounds that inconvenience the user base is not acceptable. In my opinion there is no excuse. Worse, someone should have been able to go back through version control in the software to determine which change introduced the bug. From what I can see in this thread, no one is working on this issue. The official responses query for platform the app is running on and what tracks exhibit the issue. Beyond that, all they say is to reboot everything, which is a very poor response to what is obviously a software problem.
I have the same issue. Also a Sony tv. The lyrics on the tv aren't synced up with the song, with all the songs.
I have tried the troubleshooting but it didn't work.
I don't have another wifi network to try and cant use a hotspot for the Sony tv.
Crossfading isn't available for spotify on the tv.
Hey @Iroh22,
Welcome to the thread and thanks for sharing these details.
Since you mentioned that it's not possible to test with another internet connection at the moment, I also recommend restarting the router just in case if you haven't already done so.
Did you notice when this delay started happening and if it was after something specific such as an update for example? Have you by any chance tested if the same thing happens if you connect your phone to the TV and use it to control the playback?
Lastly, it'd be very helpful if you could send us a video as requested by @OscarDC here.
Hope to hear from you soon 🙂
I found out today that this delay isn't being caused by casting music from one device to the TV, it's the TV app itself that doesn't know how to sync up the timer to the music, the timer starts seconds later then the music begins...
I deleted the app on my Phone and TV, reinstalled it on my TV and used the spotify pairing website to only login on the TV, ensuring there's no casting or linking to any other Spotify apps going on.
So please fix the synchronization on Android TV 10's Spotify app!!!
You asked for a video, so I'll make one later... Although I don't see why you need proof that this is happening...
Here's proof:
You can see the timer remains at 0:00 even when the lyrics screen hides the UI...
Hey folks!
This should now be resolved, thank you for the patience 🙂
In case you're still experiencing any issues with the lyrics, try logging out and back in again and let us know in case anything is out of order. Thanks!
Hey @jbesk,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
Just to cover all the basics, would you mind confirming if you tried to reinstall the app again? If not, give it a try to see if it makes any difference.
It's also worth trying with a different Wi-Fi connection to see if the issue persists. If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.
Let us know how it goes.
I just gave it a shot on my Roku Ultra. At first it didn't seem to be fixed. The lyrics would highlight far too early and scroll off the screen before anything was being sung. I then went out to the home screen, highlighted the Spotify app, hit the * key, and then selected check for updates. I much prefer doing a check for updates rather than a re-install.
I went back into the spotify app and the first song played, Im guten Im Bosen by Eisbrecher played perfectly fine. I hit pause and then went to various other songs on the same album. Half of these songs now say they have no lyrics when I know they had lyrics 6 months ago. Fine. I played "Fakk" and now the lyrics are once again all out of sync. I tried "Die Holle Muss Warten" and again everything is out of sync.
I uninstalled the app, then re-installed it. Tried playing "Tanz mit mir" and got the same behavior. Something's improved, but it doesn't seem to stick. My Roku is hard wired to a Cisco small business switch. There'll be no blaming the wifi in my house...
Hi, I hope someone can help please?
I love to follow the lyrics of songs. It works great on my IPhone 15 pro max but not so on my TV.
We have a 75” Samsung The Frame TV. Spotify looks incredible on it. We’d love to sing along to songs as a family but the lyrics when displayed are not in sync.
Normally the words start lighting up a good 8-10 seconds before the vocals start. Sometimes only the last line of a song comes on at the beginning of the track and remains until the end.
I have tried logging out and in again but this doesn’t work. How can I get the lyrics to sync on my tv please?
All devices are on the same network.
Thank you.

My Question or Issue
Lyrics will not sync on the tv.
same problem
Still the issue has not yet been fixed until now. I THINK THE BEST IS TO MAKE IT 4 LINES if you can't solve this, and that thw easy fix i think.
I am also having this problem. I enjoy listening on my TV and Roku, but the lyrics are really out of sync. I’ve logged out and reinstalled the app. No luck. Wi-fi isn’t the issue. Works fine on the phone and computer.
I am now having this conversation issue in my Roku tv. It happens if I’m controlling Spotify from my phone or playing directly from the app on the TV. A song will start to play and then all of a sudden The playback bar skips to the end of the song and then a new song will come on. Sometimes the Play back bar will start for the next song when the previous song is still playing.
