Message & Invite Friends Feature Problem

Message & Invite Friends Feature Problem

I just discovered that the message feature, which I discovered a little while back, now allows us to initiate sending messages back and forth with other users, including artists and bands that have user profiles, which is really cool. The problem is how it has to be initiated, shown in the screenshot. To initiate it, you have to send a message to users outside of Spotify, which Spotify states the reason as being for safety. That makes no sense. It's the opposite. If it's about safety, then sending the initial message outside of Spotify, whether that be your your phone number, e-mail address, a chat application, or even social media, is the less safe or unsafe option. And many people might not want to share that information. It should be completely safe, to send messages on Spotify, for more than one reason, including the ability to block people. You can also report the user for sending inappropriate messages. Additionally, we may just want to reach out to artists or bands, just once, because we want to share a playlist that we made, with them, that has their music on it.

Another thing is the message that pops up is ridiculously worded, because of the incorrect use of "invite", which is a verb. It's not a noun. "Invitation" is is the noun. Spotify employees should represent themselves as professional and educated.

Y'all should fix these problems, so that this stuff makes sense.

Hey @MadmanOnWheels, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I will make sure to pass your feedback on to the right folks. If you have Ideas on how the Messages feature should be changed, I also encourage you to create a new Idea about it here. Share the idea so others can show their support and once it gets the appropriate amount of votes, it'll be viewed internally by Spotify.

Hope this clears things up!
