My Question or Issue
Recently (just noticed today) that any of my Alex Multi-Room music groups that contain an Echo Link Amp device no longer show up and can't be played to from Spotify. Groups that do NOT contain an Echo Link work, and individual Echo Links work just fine.
I can create a new Multi-Room group with just Echo devices, works fine. As soon as I add an Echo Link device, it vanishes and won't play.
I've seen reports on Reddit about this, but wanted to make sure you were aware.

Am I going crazy or do we still not have multiroom or multi speaker support when using the Spotify Connect devices?
This is my exact predicament

This was merged from another thead, I am not referring to Amazon Echo, so it should not have been merged, I am refering to Spotify Connect.
This is extremely disappointing, the amount of posts with this and an idea that goes back years. Spotify really need to chime in here and explain what or how this works. They are confusing matters from products with other providers, where groups work, such a google chromecast. Now someone is merging threads, its adding to the confusion.
Myself, I am using a device that supports "Spotify Connect". I would like to have a group, that can have multiple speakers? Is this still not possible?
Now we’ve merged two separate problems. Why do I feel Spotify will use this confusion to their advantage and just never solve the issue?
I will be another paid subscriber that will be canceling if there is not a resolution soon to allow the echo link to work in the multi room music with Spotify.
The lack of response from Spotify is 😖
I have the same problem for me

Which problem? with Amazon Echo, groups with "Spotify Connect", or understanding how this works. You know, because threads for different issues are being combined into one thread.
I’ll just leave this here because it’s what I’ll probably be using to go from Spotify to Pandora.
I have the same issue. Deleted my speaker group and recreated a dozen times now. I've tried different random combinations of speakers, and even with a group without my link added it still doesn't work. All of my apps are up to date and my devices are up to date. Everything is on the same network.
This is broken.
Spotify knows it is broken.
And us as customers are getting no feedback on if/when it will be fixed which is the biggest issue of them all.
Have the same issue with 2 Echo Links. After I create a new group with them both in using Alexa app, the group doesn't show up in the list of Spotify Connect devices. Each Echo Link still shows up separately, but not in a group.
Keep reaching out on this thread and others, as well as via Twitter at @SpotifyCares to give them more visibility into this.
The more they hear, the more likely they are to fix.
I’m having same issue with the echo link. The only device that will not group. Totally defeats the purpose of why I use Spotify and echo devices.
Suggest reaching out here too: https://twitter.com/SpotifyCares
I posted on https://twitter.com/SpotifyCares about this issue. Please go and do the same if you can.
Looks like it’s working again - at least for us … for now. Spotify speaker groups with Echo Links are actually playing music.
Thank you to everyone that contributed here and to those that worked on the fix.
I hope everyone else is working too.
Yes, started working again for me today as well. According to Apple app store, there was a new version of spotify that was released today, 8.8.94. Not sure if that was the fix but I noticed my devices auto-updated. If anybody's devices didn't auto-update perhaps running the update will fix it for you.
