Music Pausing Randomly

Solved!

Music Pausing Randomly

I have premium and all my songs downloaded, but my songs will just randomly pause every few seconds. I'm able to unpause them immediately but it's very annoying.

Hey folks. Check that your audio output isn't an external monitor or something like that. After coming here I thought I'd change the audio output back to the original setting which is the computer and it fixed the issue. The glitch had to do with the connection of the second display. I knew it didn't feel like a Wifi issue or something with the program. It felt old school connection issue. So there is something faulty going on with the connection, but it's no biggie for me. I just move the sound slightly closer to my other desk that's next to the computer set up. Pretty sure any bluetooth devices won't have this problem. I bought the display used and it was older than my computer so it might have some kind of issue.

Hello, i didnt find any orher way to text here than answer someone.

My spotify keeps pausing the songs after a few seconds. I‘ve reinstalled the app an all devices, logged in and out an all devices, checked the connections with other apps and checked all battery options. and slowly im getting **bleep** and i don‘t know what to tryout anymore.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hey there @musicenjoyer2,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

There are a couple of more things mentioned by @Yordan above that you can try:

  • Check if the issue occurs with another account. You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to check.
  • Try power-cycling your router. We'd recommend unplugging it from the power outlet > waiting around 60-120 sec > plugging it back in to see if that helps.
  • If you're using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily as well. Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected devices.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running on those.
  • A video recording of this behavior. You can attach the video to your next reply in mp4 format, or upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public.

Keep us in the loop!

I have Tesla Y 2024, I added the app the the Tesla and can only get Spotify  to play 30 seconds. I have premium Spotify acct. help

I have tried all of these steps and its still not working. spotify keeps pausing itself every 30 seconds. Im android, ive done the full clean reinstall as per the guide. I've gone into apps, then spotify then battery, and changed it from optimize to unrestricted.

hi i also have the same issue with spotify pausing when i opened new app, other times it also pauses when i stayed on one app. i already uninstalled the app and deleted the cache. the customer service also told me to reset my phone but is that really something i have to do just to have my spotify function properly? like i definitely don't want to do that.

Hey @rie_wy,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the thread.

We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far. To continue investigating this behavior and before suggesting a factory reset of your device, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

It would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device (it could be the same friend or relative) to see if the issue persists.

Lastly, since this could be related to the network connection, we'd recommend trying with a different Wi-Fi connection to see if the issue persists. In case you don't have another one available, you can use your mobile data or a hotspot to test it.

Let us know how it goes.
