Hey Spotify! I've been very closely following the rumors around Spotify HiFi/Supremium for a few months now, and it seems like the plans to launch Supremium have been cancelled due to "low demand" from a survey that was supposedly done recently. But I would like to make this petition for HiFi audio (more specifically, up to 24bit 192khz) so hopefully a Spotify Mod/Employee will see this and bring it up to the executives so they can release Supremium/HiFi (I heard it was already done being coded) to us users with DACs & high end wired headphones/speakers for us to enjoy! I also heard a reason the project was cancelled might've been because companies like amazon & apple have released HiFi at no additional cost, whereas Spotify would like to charge more for HiFi, and since it doesn't cost more on apple music or Amazon music, it was scrapped. To that I would like to say, charge me more! I don't care if its $19.99, $24.99, whatever, just give us HiFi audio! I will GLADLY pay more than I have to compared to the competitors for HiFi, as I understand that Spotify is solely a music/audiobooks/podcast company therefore it is not a good business decision to release HiFi at no additional cost because they can't make up the lost money through sales of hardware. But that is no reason to scratch Supremium/HiFi, as there are a lot of loyal customers like me who would still pay more for HiFi.
So to conclude, IF YOU WANT HiFi, please voice your opinion here! Hopefully we can convince Spotify to release HiFi! Best of luck fellow Spotify enthusiasts! Have a lovely day!
I got tired of waiting and price is too high. So, I cancelled Spotify and went with Qobuz. I do not think I would go back with their deluxe pricing being higher than Qobuz, $12.99 a month. Qobuz has unlimited songs in favorites. What I needed in Spotify but Spotify was too slow on releasing it.
Tidal has cap of 10,000 songs on loved tracks. Not what I liked. I have over 40,000 favorites, and keeps growing, and Tidal would ruin it.
I switched to streaming Qobuz, because Spotify is just not doing anything. Tired of waiting and $17 or $18 a month is too much to me.
Actually, Qobuz is better than Tidal if you want unlimited variety of music, like unlimited favorite songs. Tidal has that nasty cap of 10,000 tracks limit.
Goodbye Spotify and all of you that still use Spotify. I am enjoying Qobuz.
It is January 2025 and still looks like no effort to get it started still. As far as going to Qobuz, no regrets. $5 more and costly more than Qobuz, no matter what features they add, it will not pull me back because most features they add are not worth the extra $5 to me to get same quality for less at Qobuz. I am pretty sure if people were smart, would follow me.
No, I can't stand caps at Tidal, that is why Qobuz is better for $2 more for unlimited favorites, instead of capped 10,000 liked songs on Tidal. Much less work on collection on Qobuz. Oh, by the way, they have more albums that are missing in Spotify. They even have a request for missing albums in their android app, Qobuz.
There is only one way I would come back to Spotify and won't happen because Spotify cares more about money. Drop the price comparable to Tidal with the unlimited liked songs still, and stay at $10.99 a month like Tidal, and I bet you get your customers back, that is with the hi-fi/lossless hi-res music, talking to Spotify. It won't happen as I said that they care more about taking money than about the customers.
