Re: How to locate the currently playing song in a very long custom playlist?

Re: How to locate the currently playing song in a very long custom playlist?

I have exactly the same problem. I was listening while working, on enhanced mode. I heard a song I wanted to keep in the list. The problems:

  • There is no button on the song card to add it to the playlist permanently
  • There is no indication which song is it that is being currently played on the playlist

So even if I take the effort to scroll and browse thru entire playlist of like 80 tracks I can't spot what is being played to add it to the list permanently with those tiny + / - round buttons...

Exactly.  Spotify?  This should be easy to do.  Please address this!!!

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the Android section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we'd like to add some insights. It's expected to not find a button to add a recommended song in the Now Playing View section. You can find a three-dot menu next to the heart button, in which you can find the option to add the song to any of your playlist:

We understand where you're coming from and we think it's a great suggestion. So, in this case, you're free to post an idea about it. Don't forget to check for existing ideas first. Take into account, you must follow the guidelines for submitting ideas, so your suggestion will be approved more quickly and smoothly.

On another note, you should be able to find the location of the current song playing by clicking on the album art, at the bottom left of the screen. That should take you to a view of the playlist playing, even if that is a song suggested by the enhance feature. The song playing should be highlighted in green, as you can see in the image above.

Since you're having inconveniences with this, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device, to see if you notice changes in this behavior. If this issue persists, it'd be really helpful if you sent us the make/model and OS of the affected computer along with the Spotify version you're running there.

Keep us in the loop!
