Repeat One automatically disabling

Solved!

Repeat One automatically disabling

Occasionally, I will set a song to Repeat One when I feel like listening to that one specifically for a while, like most people. However, the problem arises when I attempt to turn it on. Sometimes, I will click, and the regular repeat will activate, but clicking again will only activate repeat one for a couple of seconds before it reverts back to regular repeat. The only solution I've found is to keep my cursor hovered over the button, but that is only temporary, as moving it or letting the song repeat immediately results in the same thing happening.

Hi @Dante-J-Walseth,

Thanks a bunch for the prompt reply.

Can you confirm if you're using just the normal web player, some kind of installed web app or the Android app? Consider clearing the cache and cookies of the web player and checking if the same issue happens in an incognito window

Keep us posted.

Hi there @Dante-J-Walseth,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to get the repeat functionality working as expected again.

This is quite odd and we haven't seen any similar issues. I've tested this thorough and never hand anything like this happen. So that we can look into this further, could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on the Chromebook? Do you use the web player or the Android app?
  • When did this start happening?
  • Does this happen with any playlists and/or album?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the feedback! I'd be glad to give you all of the information I can.

- So far, this has only occurred on Chromebok, and only this one specifically.
- This began happening about 6 hours before I made the original post.
- This happens with any playlist/album, but it seems most common with my Liked Songs.
- I would be glad to attach a screen-recorded video, but Spotify is considered by the screen-recording as "Sensitive Content," and I am therefore unable to capture it.

Ah! Yes, I did forget to mention that I was using the Spotify app rather than the web player. The Incognito window does appear to allow me to activate repeat one without issue. Clearing cookies does seem to have fixed it, but I will keep you updated if I run into the same issue more than one more time.
