[Samsung Smart TV] Spotify doesn't work

Sent a message sometime ago, but don't see it appearing here.

 

Once more;

 

Got a Premium account registered with a name and a pasword (not a Facebook). Tried to use the app on my Samsung ES7000. From thre attepmts to use it got the following messages:

 

1. There seemed to be a problem with my account, needed to visit www.spotify.com/samsung. Tried again

2. Could log in, could find the music, but couldn't play any - an erros message (I guess an ID2 or something), Tried to log in again

3. Got the message again, that there is a problem with my account, needed to visit www.spotify.com/samsung. Visited. Nothing - Premium account is active, nothing wrong, no messages or warnings.

 

Posted a message to the forum - it didn't apprear. Got a message that I have a private message and to read it I need to follow the link and press on the envelope. No envelope to press on when I follow the link. Can't find anything that looks like private message box.

Hi! I just bought brnad new 50ES6100 and i have the same problem. At first Spotify needed to upgrade firmware so i dit it with the online option. Now i have the ERROR ID 2 problem... 

Any solutions??? I bought Samsung just for this app...

I had Spotify working for a while on my 55es8090. Now it is always showing "there was a problem with your spotify account". It works on all other devices though.

Short update. 

The problem still exists. 

 

Samsung firmware upgraded from 2005 to 2007 and resetted the Smart HUD. But it didn't help. Samsung worker was very helpful, but told me there is nothig else can be done now. He made a report of the problem and sent for further investigation. If there will be any news, I'll let you know.

 

For everyone with the same problem  - it's good to get in contact with Samsung service center and make them aware of the problem. Just be sure you have the latest firmware (the last adviced was 2007) and resetted the Smart Hud after the firmware upgrade.

 

I mentioned the Spotify related problem to the Spotify customer service (Spotify logs me in with my Facebook sometimes even I am using a log in name and password that is totally not related to my Facebook account and is conencted to a different e-mailaddress), But no anwer so far.

Have you got a Spotify case number for that?

Have you updated the TV firmware or Samsung Smart Hub recently?

Well, this morning I have searched for the new updates on TV. There was version 2008 already (last week I updated till 2007). So updated the firmware. Reset the Smart HUD (as according to Samsung it's needed to make it to use the new firmware). 

 

But the problem is still the same. It's already the third firmware update since I noticed the problem.

 

 

Ok thanks! So you updated the firmware after the problem occurred? I just want to be sure that firmware updates aren't part of the issue.

I did update (several times) after the issue occured. I also reinstalled/uninstalled/installed/reset the hub and the spotify app multiple times... always the same issue. 😞 I wonder why it worked for weeks at first.

In my case Spotufy never worked. I bought a TV, installed Spotify and it wasn't working. Just once I could log in, but couldn't get any search results due to ID:2 problem or so. Other times - suggestion to register for Spotify.

 

I see your point and my case is neither supporting nor denying it. I have bought the TV the same week as the first complains appeared here. I updated it first, so if the firmware was the problem, I got it before installing the Spotify.

 

The strange thing is. If the firmware update is a problem, why isn't it still discovered? As we are now three updates further. I hope Samsung is investigating this problem.

We're working on sorting this out but first we need bit of information that would really help out. Please let us know the following:

 

  • Your TV model number
  • Your Firmware version 

 

 

 

 

TV: Samsung UE55ES7000SXXN

 

Firmware - 002008 (had 002007 and 002005 as well)

Got a letter from Samsung today.

 

It says that they've researched the problem and that it should be possible to log in without problems. If not... the same advice (i've done more than once) - update the frimware and reset the hud. Well, I couldn't apply the advice as I already have the latest firmware version and there is no new update so far. Problem still exists. Called again - they will send a service man. I'll keep you informed...

 

Has anyone got the problem solved so far?

A service man from Samsung was here today. Tried the same things, but this time under the official representative supervision. Nothing has changed so far. The problem is reported back to Samsung.

Ok thanks for the update. We're still looking into it and will update date you when you have more. If you haven't already posted your firmware and TV model numbers, please do so.

Mine is giving me the error that "there is a problem with you account, go to www.samsung.com/spotify"

I've visited the site, but it says that I'm already signed up, which I am.

Hi, just found this thread after signing up to a 30 day premium trial.

 

Samsung 6540, firmware and Smart Hub software upgraded earlier today to latest versions prior to installing the Spotify app.

 

Just get the message that there's a problem with my account, and to go to the spotify.com/samsung link - which when I do, tells me (correctly) I already have an account.

 

Only want to use this at home (call me a luddite) so if this ain't fixed soon I'll be cancelling the trial and going back to buying CDs which haven't failed me yet.
