When using the Jam feature, if you select a playlist with shuffle turned on, it will cause there to be double of the same songs in the queue. Turning off shuffle will fix the concurrent duplicates queued.
Hey @za8679,
Thanks for reaching out. We moved your post to the help boards where it better fits.
Could you send over a video where we can take a better look at this behavior? You can attach it to your next response or upload it to another platform like YouTube or Google Drive and send a link to it. Make sure to hide any personal or sensitive information, and to give it the relevant permissions if you decide to upload it somewhere else.
Also, make sure to let us know the make, model, OS version and the Spotify version running on the affected device(s).
We'll be on the lookout.
Hello! I am unfortunately having the same issue. My buddy and I are truck drivers and like to jam together. Unfortunately skipping every other song is getting rather annoying. Video of the issue and device info are attached. Please let me know if I can provide anything else! Thanks!
Hey @Ethor98,
Thanks for posting in this thread! And kudos for including the video and your device details 🙂
Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you confirm if you've tried any troubleshooting steps? This includes clearing cache, reinstalling the app, trying with another device (if possible), using another internet connection, update the device's OS, etc.
Do you also know if the friend you're usually joining the Jam with is experiencing similar issues from their end? Have you noticed if this happens at any specific points? For example, only with playlists or albums, with manually queued songs, or playlist folders.
This info will help us avoid repeating steps and investigate the issue further.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Hey, thanks for the quick response!
Yes, I’ve already tried the basic troubleshooting steps—clearing cache, reinstalling the app, switching networks, updating the OS, and even testing on a second device. I’m fairly tech-savvy, so I usually run through those before checking the forums.
My buddy’s phone info is below in case that helps with the investigation. Let me know if there’s anything else I can provide!
Thanks!
Thanks for the info, @Ethor98 👍
Have you folks tried switching who creates the Jam to see if it makes any difference? Also, does this happen after a specific event, like when the participant changes what's currently playing (as in skipping to another song in the queue or even starting a completely different playlist/album)?
Something else that's worth checking if adding a song to the queue manually would help refresh it and cause it to display properly.
Let us know how it goes!
So ironically he cant join jams. I can only join his. When he tries to join a jam it just prompts him to install the app ( of course he already has it installed) . I did try manually adding songs. It duplicates those too I do believe. It just happens as soon as we join and shuffle a Playlist. There's nothing that "triggers" it per say. Just happens as soon as we start a Playlist.
Thanks for testing, @Ethor98 👍
Our tech folks will investigate further. In the meantime, make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates!
Cheers 🤘
Sorry for the delay!
The issue should now be resolved so give it a try and let us know if it's fixed on your end as well. Make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.
