Spotify App has been removed from Squeezebox / Logitech Media Server

Spotify has decided to remove the App on mysqueezebox, Logitech media server. Now I can not play anymore through my Linux LMS and have to switch to Airplay / Ipad which has less highend audio performance.

Is there a replace for the Spotify Procol Handler plugin, which is up till now by far the best Spotify plugin on LMS.

The changes that Spotify arranged in the services made my Logitech Transporter stop playing Spotify. A premium account does not count here.

And chromecast that is suggested as alternative does not work.

I'm not amused at all.

This makes me very interested in a solution, when there is one or when there comes one.
