My Question or Issue

Hello, I am unable to connect to my Pioneer VSX-528 amplifier running the latest firmware (s9294.4004.1066), having the latest update of the spotify app on all my devices. My amp is connected via ethernet to my internet box, and my devices connected via wifi. All on the same network.

What happens is that I can see my speaker/Amp on the Spotify Connect list of available devices on all my devices but when I click on its name, nothing happens beyond a 'Connecting to VSX-528' text.

This topic indicated that support for pioneer devices had been depreciated. (https://community.spotify.com/t5/Other-Podcasts-Partners-etc/Spotify-Connect-stopped-working-on-my-r...) but then, a few months later, a user said that they could use their pioneer amp again.

My question is as follows: is my amplifier depreciated, does Spotify not support some Pioneer amplifiers anymore? or is there a solution to connect my VSX-528 with Spotify Connect.

  Thank you for your help.

Hey @miney013,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

We'd suggest that you reach out directly to the support team from Pioneer about this. They know the specifics of each device and whether it still supports Spotify or not.

As models and specific set ups still work but from our end we cannot guarantee all devices will. This depends on multiple factors. Firmware updates on receivers/speakers and app updates from Spotify's end sometimes get out of tune which might cause issues.

We always work on improving the user's experience and we advise that you keep your Spotify up to date with the latest version, so that you don't miss out on any fixes and improvements.

Hope this helps. Take care 🙂
