My Question or Issue
I don't have the new Lossless option on any of my devices. App has been updated to the latest on all, still not there.
Your own AI help System said it should be on Family Premium yet I am not seeing it.
Yes I am looking in the right place, where you change the quality, the highest I have is 'Very High' which is not new.

Yes lossless is avaiable for me NOW 👍🏼
I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous. It's been close to a month since announcement and still no option. I don't intend to continue paying the subscription for less features at the same price like others. I can't believe I restored my subscription for this.
Today it arrived also for me as family owner, on all end devices (Denon, wiim, phone)
Finally got it as administrator as well. Now Sonos have to implement the lossless capability as well.

My Question or Issue
I own a Samsung Soundbar Q800A which does support FLAC/Lossless Officially even on Airplay, but for some reason while using Spotify Connect Lossless is greyed out.
i need help from Spotify team to make it officially support for these models as it seems Spotify connect isn't able to detect it or maybe it's samsung issue where it isn't able to send proper data to spotify connect. whatever it might be please look into it.
I have it available on my phone but not on the PC... strange
@Expertsultan...
Samsung seemingly only allows Lossless through the eARC input and not via any wireless protocol.
Airplay works on a wifi signal and doesn't compress along the same lines as bluetooth. Best explanation I can give whey one "tech" works and another doesn't.
I don't know from where you're getting your info but Samsung does have proper FLAC/Lossless support, even official message by Spotify mentioned devices like Samsung will have lossless support.
Samsung Q800A Spotify Connect lossless support. - Samsung Community - 3373523
Your specific soundbar does not currently support latest Spotify Connect and therefore will not see "lossless" as an option. An updated version of your soundbar is not a good comparison.
Going to a wired setup is the only option for lossless with a Q800A.

In your case, the only workaround is to install USB Audio Player Pro to go straight to the USB port. I have a DAC dongle connecting Sennheiser HD 650 to my Pixel 9 Pro. (I'm not sure of any other current methods to bypass the System Mixer.)

I can understand what you're trying to say, all i wanted to show was that it's a software limitation and not a hardware one. I saw a Quboz related post where they mentioned this, so either Spotify and Samsung both need to work together to provide update for the given soundbar firmware or only Samsung have to implement it and provide an update. Idk if Spotify connect is server based updated or firmware based updated.
Samsung didn't renew licensing for a wide range of "older" models (HW-MS650, which is a 2020 model, is an example I've seen others complain about). Pretty common occurance for Samsung to hit "planned obsolescence" just a few years after release.
Eventually someone will be able to pull together a list of incompatible equipment, even those that have older "versions" of Spotify Connect.
Wait, the model you mentioned doesn't even have Spotify connect or WiFi/Airplay at all. Apart from that i understand what you mean by Samsung dropping support for older models within few years.
I am just hoping for someone to provide a possible workaround to make Spotify connect play lossless on these older soundbars like a modified firmware with latest Spotify Connect version in it or a guide on how to edit the firmware.
According to Samsung, it certainly does Wi-Fi connections. (See attached) Airplay, not so much... I'm assuming the Spotify Connect wasn't a specific line item due to feature not being fully formed upon release of this soundbar, but the tech was implemented.
Maybe someone over on Github will post a jailbroken version of the firmware, but it'll need some hobbist to spend the time.
That's interesting as i searched for same model specs it didn't mention Spotify connect nor WiFi in connectivity. I myself tried to extract firmware file but saw it's .msd file which isn't popular and no one has ever dug into it.
Idk if Samsung will be able to get in touch for official statement regarding older models being supported for Lossless on Spotify connect. I will give Samsung support a try and see what they got to say.
Spotify loves doing this thing where they announce something huge, make everyone excited, and then boom it’s only available in a few lucky countries. The rest of us just sit here, staring at our screens like clowns waiting for the update that never comes. It’s ridiculous. Especially for premium users who actually pay every month. Like, don’t announce it if it’s not ready for everyone yet. That’s common sense.
It honestly feels insulting. It’s like Spotify’s saying, “Oh, users from rich countries first, the rest can wait.” Excuse me? We pay too. We’re loyal too. But sure, keep treating us like second-class users.
Here in the Philippines, they bragged about AI DJ way back in January 2024, and guess when we finally got it? August. Seven months later. Seven. Whole. Months. And now, they’re pulling the same thing again. Spotify Messages announced in August 2025 still nothing. Not even a whisper.
To top all things of, Lossless audio feature. Almost a month since the announcement, and it’s still region-locked. Spotify support? They don’t even know when it’s coming. It’s embarrassing at this point.
Spotify, you keep saying “Music for everyone.” but it feels more like “Music for everyone… but not you.”
I seriously encouraged everyone to explore different msuic streaming platforms. Because now, at this pace and what Spotify is doing, especially for my fellow Filipino users, to explore other music streaming platform, because what Spotify is doing is unfair. End of story. There's a lot of better ones out there. Spotify today is not yet promising.
Long overdue, they had been talking for few years. So let patiently wait before the end October. From Malaysia
Still no access to Lossless on any of my devices. All apps updated.
Very frustrating how these company's market features but it's only ever rolled out to a select few.
