So I just recently installed Spotify on my fat PS3, and it started up and I could log in fine. However if I'm in Spotify for more than 20 seconds or I start a song my PS3 just locks up, I can't connect to it with any other devices and I have to hold down the power button to shut it down, where it then also makes the frozen shutdown sound (three consecutive beeps.)
Nothing I do seems to work, like shutting down all other Spotifies in the area, removing any discs from the PS3, etc.
How can I make it work again? My PS3 is the only thing plugged into my sorround sound right now, and I'd really like to hear high quality again, but it just hard crashes every time.

I don't have a premium account to listen on my PS3; I just want higher quality audio without commercials. That matters to me, especially when I'm listening on a larger sound system. I didn't have an account for awhile but signed back up when I saw it was available for PS3. I really hope they fix this soon.
I could listen to Spotify on my ps3 for 45 min yesterday without any crashes. I turned it off because I had to leave. Is the Spotify app working now for anybody else as well? Or was I just lucky yesterday?
I haven't tried to play Spotify on my PS3 for a while and don't know that I will be able to until after Thanksgiving as I will be traveling. I sure hope it gets fixed. If it's not before I return, I will probably look into another option for my music at home.
I am a premium subscriber.
So I've lingered on the edges of the post, and I decided to give it another go. Today, my PS3 will now run Spotify without crashing, but only for about 30-45 minutes until it freezes again. Hopefully this means there's progress, but it's not completely fixed yet.
Ok, my luck is over. Yesterday the ps3 crashed within 10 minutes...
Pretty much. The app works fine on my desktop and phone, but it's really terrible on the PS3. I'm really disappointed.
Same issue, two songs or a complete playlist seems to be the same. Spotify app freezes after a "while".

This what I do as well. Control everything from a remote source, like a phone or PC.
Sometimes I forget though and hours into a spotiofy session on the PS3 I'll mistakingly touch the controller and everything locks up. Is this a PS3 only problem? If it is, I'm skeptical it will get fixed...
Same problem here – runs fine for about 2-3 songs, then freezes up and requires a hard restart... I'm just posting here in hopes that more people mentioning it will help spur a response / fix.
I usually use my phone to control the app on my PS3 and it still freezes. I really hope they fix this soon because it sucks.
I've been having the same problem. Start up my PS3, start up Spotify, it might crash in 30 minutes, it might crash in 30 seconds. More recently it continues to crash rather quickly, before I'm even able to hit play on a song. It crashes to the point that my PS3 has to restore its file system everytime after Spotify crashes. Please fix this ❤️
