What is your current operating system? Also, is that system installed on your SSD?

yeah the installation guide from Spotify on Windows or Mac OS is very low, actually there is none;D...
Spotify installs itself where your operating system is installed

If you believe installation customisability and more extensive documentation should be implemented please post this in Idea Submissions.

For the matter at hand, having the application installed in a separate volume would most reasonably
lead performance loss. In OS X one could try this by simply dragging the Spotify App from /Applications on your system drive to the desired location. I don't have access to a secondary drive at the moment so i haven't tried this myself, but since applications in OS X are largely self-contained I don't see why it would not work.

The procedure should be similar in Linux systems.

I ran into the same issue a while back. Spotify doesn’t give you much control over where it installs, especially on Windows. I ended up upgrading to a larger SSD instead of moving it to HDD, since apps like Spotify and games run way smoother on solid-state storage. I got my SSD from Orange Hardware, and the price was great for a reliable drive. If you're running out of space, definitely worth checking them out.
