Spotify stops whenever i click into discord mobile app

My Question or Issue

Hello. I've never had this issue before until very recently. Whenever i'm listening to spotify, the music would stop when i click into the discord app. it doesnt resume when i exit it, i'll have to manually resume my music either in the spotify app or my task bar. after i resume my music, it will stop again when i return to discord. I am never in any voice call while this happens.

i've tried multiple solutions i've found online such as disconnecting my spotify from discord, reinstall both apps, allow spotify to run in background, reduce motions in discord, disable quests in discord, disable optimization for spotify; nothing worked. i've tried almost everything i could find but to no avail. please help.

Could you please check if the same happens with other media players? You can play any audio/video in another app and let it run in the background while you open the Discord app.

Hi @Amay ! Unfortinately, this only happens in the discord mobile app. every other app i open, spotify would still continue to run perfectly fine.

Jumping in just to mention that this could be related to battery optimization or data saver as well. So, we'd recommend changing the battery optimization for Discord and Spotify by following these steps:

1. Open your phone's Settings app.
2. Scroll down and tap on Battery.
3. Tap on More battery settings/App battery management
4. Tap on Optimize battery usage.
5. You will see a list of apps, a drop down filter and select All apps.
6. Find Spotify and Discord and Select Don't optimize (or Unrestricted)

If the issue persists, we'd recommend turning off any data saver on your device to see if it makes any difference. To do so, open the Settings app > SIM card & mobile data > Data usage > Data Saving and make sure it's turned OFF.
