Stop Podcast Live Transcript

My Question or Issue

I clicked on Episode Transcript for an episode of one of my podcasts in order to check it out and see how it worked. After using it briefly I clicked the back arrow in the top left. Ever since I clicked on that I now have a live transcript on the track page for every podcast with the live transcript option rather than the static image of the podcast. I would like to turn this off but I am not able to find such an option.

i can’t really believe they can’t disable it. They just don’t think it’s a big issue until someone of us gets involved in a car accident because of this stupid feature! Which may be a good feature but since we can’t disable it, it’s**bleep** feature!

I don't use my phone while driving. I don't do distracted driving. My attention is fully on the road, traffic, safety, responsibilities. If an accident occurs, it's not the fault of this poor Spotify feature. It's the FAULT OF THE DRIVER.

Still experiencing this issue, cleared the cache, logged out logged in 4x & restarted my iPhone nothing so far please help this is very irritating

If you read history of any tech issue, which is imperative for perspective & information, you will know that this issue dates back to 2023. That it remains oft-reported and still unfixed in 2025 tells you all you need to know.

iPhone 14 Pro. iOS 18.1.1. Would really like to have Spotify include an option to turn off the transcription. Updating, logging in and out, all the previous suggestions did not solve the issue.

BigAM, actually stephenshutters is correct - you don't need to repeat. Your original post about the futility of the effort will be there for all to see.  My (wishful) thinking (after having read previous posts on this subject) is that once a certain threshold of complaints is received, the company might do something about it.  I won't be holding my breath, however - with over 250M subscribers, it'd probably take a few hundred thousand complaints for them to notice.  So, c'mon everybody!

add a toggle to turn off captions, they aren't accurate and i would much rather see podcast art.

there is no option to turn off the live transcript for podcasts!! i have tried everything—redownloading, logging out twice, and updating my phone. it’s driving me insane.
