My Question or Issue

I'm having issues with the Spotify Tesla app losing my podcast progress. Podcasts will either start from beginning or another place where the Tesla remembers the last played position, even if my iPhone has played ahead. Every other device that works with Spotify Connect has worked fine except my Tesla. This problem has been reported all over the internet on Reddit and Tesla forums by many others since 2018 and has still not been addressed 7 years later. Who's end is this issue on, and when will it be fixed?

Hello! 👋 Thank you for sharing your experience.

From what I've researched, this specific behavior only occurs in the Spotify app integrated into Tesla vehicles, and has been reported by other users.

In the meantime, an alternative is to start the podcast directly from your phone before you start driving, which ensures that the playback point is respected.

Could you kindly look into whether this is an issue on your end or Teslas?

I’m aware of the ways in which you could attempt to get around it. So far the best way is to use the mobile Spotify app and play through Bluetooth (not to the Tesla Media Player) only as it happens too often. But a solution can’t be to not use the Tesla app because that defeats the purpose. The solution must include using their app which again was either made by you, them, or a collaboration.

Also, I don’t think it has to do with the vehicle switching between home WiFi and the premium connectivity provided by Tesla as I’ve tested it both ways. There are some others online who also reported this as well. Signing in and out of other devices and deleting and re-installing Spotify apps doesn’t work either, so it appears to be a connection problem specific to your Connect system not properly syncing the progress between systems.

Hello again @bzmuda ! Your feedback is very important and has already been forwarded to the responsible team to make your experience even better 🙂
