I'm on the premium plan, using the Windows desktop app version of Spotify. I'm trying to remove a song from my Discover Weekly playlist, since it's been there before and I didn't think much of it the first time. The button to do this has been removed. I can find old posts explaining where it is, and it's not there any more. How do I remove this song from my playlist?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Mine just went away this week. Seems like this has been a problem for a while now and that's unacceptable.
Either the feature is returned by next week or I leave for one of your now completely acceptable competitors. I was only here out of convenience.
it still works on mobile for me but not desktop, pls bring the dislike button back, this ist horrible
Agree - removing this from the Weekly Discovery list on Desktop is a colossal step back backwards. and has rendered the Disc. weekly almost unpleasantly unusable for me.
For a long time my Disco list has delivered 99% **bleep** with the occasional gem buried in it (I still do not understand why the algorithms here are so poor when SmartShuffle consistently delivers good new tracks at a much much higher frequency for me).
My sole purpose in listening to the Disco list weekly is to try to quickly find a few new tracks or bands that might make my main playlist. By preventing me from quickly eliminating the trash you make that job both less pleasant and harder than it needs to be.
Deeply dissatisfied with this.

I'm looking for the dislike button on the Windows App for the Discover Weekly playlist. It used to be there, but it disappeared about a week or two ago. What happened?
Please return this functionality!
How can you train the bleeping AI if you can't tell it what you like or not?!
That's the whole *point* of the Discover Weekly (for me). The "Hide" or "Dislike" button is still not here for me (Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.55.235.g5eaa0904).
Why can't you leave the BLEEEEEEEP working stuff alone.
I mean, if you want to take your PAYING CUSTOMERS seriously and roll out a really nice working AI-based system, that could be really nice Unique Selling Point. But apparently you don't give a BLEEPING BLEEP about my monthly contribution. There's only so much enshittification one can take before deciding to give one of the many competitors the benefit of my funding.
Monday, 1pm. I've already heard the discover playlist twice. 3 or 4 of the songs are really annoying, and there's absolutely no way of ignoring them. If you expect me to go to the playlist and skip it EVERY TIME I listen to the playlist you're really wrong. So of course, I'm not going to martyrize myself listening to the playlist again for the rest of the week.
congratulations Spofity, you've absolutely killed the discover playlist for me.
Whoever had the idea of doing it, approved it and launch it without validation of the users deserve being fired.
Well after all these years I switched to Deezer, thank you Spotify!
This has been an issue since November 2024. I don't understand why this is taking so long. Please fix this important feature, otherwise Discover Weekly loses attractiveness. I know that I am only one of many complaining but it is important to us. Thanks for your understanding.
I like to check in every Monday when I get to work and launch Spotify to see if they un-broke their broken Discover Weekly module. Guess what? Looks like I'll be checking in next Monday and get frustrated all over again.
Seriously Spotify? What in gods name is going on over there in UX development? Who is making this ridiculous decisions. Are you TRYING to lose a devoted user base? Please pay attention to what we need. These UX desires were established by your original solid UX choices, we loved it! Why did you take it away?!
This option also just disappeared for me. I can no longer hide songs on Discover Weekly or Release Radar. This is an important feature!

My Question or Issue
I listen to Discover Weekly and Release Radar religiously. I like songs I like, and I remove songs I don't. This is how I train the algorithm. Last week, I lost the ability on both Windows desktop app. The only way to remove songs now is from the "Now Playing" view on Android mobile app (Samsung). Even on Android, you can no longer remove songs from the three dot menu or playlist view.
Oh come on. I'm sorry, this is a bizarre response. Users should absolutely expect "solution" to literally mean solution, and monthly subscribers to a live service app have no reason to be sympathetic to the removal of a working feature. What would really "reduce the need for others to take more effort to register and post" would be if usability wasn't chipped away piece by piece from the program they're paying for, sending them searching for help forums wondering if their app is bugged. "Look to improve underlying solution," gimme a break. 😑
Not "solved" however much semantic wiggling you include. Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.55.235.g5eaa0904. Sequoia 15.2. Even if it cannot work across devices, please resume "hide" or "dislike" or "remove" from playlist on a per device basis.
Hello?! Is this a late april fools joke? Why would Spotify remove one of its core features!? This makes 0 sense. Everyone is getting really tired of features being removed. First the "Create playlist radio" feature was removed to make more people use Smart Shuffle. Now you are removing the dislike button from Discover Weekly? Why even use Spotify anymore?
Ah yes, another annoyance created by the Spotify team that will be marked as "Solved" with a "We're working on it" non-answer, and 15 years later, people will come to this post to find that Spotify never really intended to work on it.
Hellooooo, this functionality is crucial to me. I had a long flight, listened to a white noise playlist and now my discover weekly was full of those tracks. If I can't remove them from the rotation, what's the point ?
