My Question or Issue

Spotify Web Player doesn't work when I open it up after closing Firefox, refresh or log in. In order to temporarily see the website until I do all of the above again, I have to clear my cache and log back in repeatedly.
I have tried:
- Make sure Firefox is up to date
- Restart my router
- Make sure 'Widewine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.' is enabled.
- Allow Firefox to play DRM controlled content
- Disabled my plugins
- Tested this on other browsers (they work)
- Made sure I'm not using a VPN.
- Made Spotify an exception to Total Cookie and enhanced tracking protection.
- See if hardware accleration is the issue.
- Check if I am on the Default System theme.
- Make a new Firefox profile to see if my account is the issue. When I refreshed on web player with it, I got the same issues as my current.
Oddly enough, Spotify's web player seems to function alright in Private mode and the app is fine too.
While clearing cookies and cache data is a temporary solution, I need to find one that isn't tedious and a permanent solution.

Hey @ophiucusspin,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Great troubleshooting! Could you try using the link offered by @Guido here (the reply accepted as a solution) to see if you can open the web player? Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

On another note, we'd recommend flushing your DNS. To do it, you can follow these steps:

  1. Press the Windows key + r.
  2. Type CMD, or command prompt, in the Windows search bar.
  3. Now run the command prompt with administrative rights.
  4. Next, type ipconfig/flushDNS and run the command by pressing the Enter key.
  5. Wait for the DNS cache to be flushed and exit the command prompt.
  6. Afterward, open Firefox and verify if this behavior persists.

Lastly, did you notice the same thing happening if you open Firefox on a different computer? It'd be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

Keep us in the loop!

The link temporarily worked for a few hours, and now when I use it, it doesn't work.
Flushing the DNS with Firefox closed and then opening it did nothing.
I will report back when I have access to another computer.

EDIT: It seems to work fine, even if I refresh. I'm not sure if I should give it some time to see if it's not temporarily allowing me in.
