Windows Phone 8 App can only play one song

I am a Spotify premium subscriber. I am trying to listen to playlists on my Windows Phone (HTC 8S) but the app will only play one song, and then stop playing. Doesn't matter what playlist. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app a number of times, makes no difference. Very frustrating.

also, the app needs an option for a "dark" theme. that white background is burning my eyes.

Same issue with the app on my Nokia 820.
