Change Family account

Hi, 

 

I just moved and would like to switch family account. I was on the account of my parents since Feb 2017 as I lived with them but now I moved in with my boyfriend and would like to switch on his family account. 

Apparently you cannot switch more than once a year. It's the first time I'm switching, do I have to wait until Feb 2018 or can I do it now?

Hey @Julwisefool! Welcome to the Spotify Community 🙂

You are free to leave the Spotify Family plan, just notify the manager of the family plan and he will remove you. Just note that you can't move plans more than once a year, so you'll have to stay on your new Family Plan until Feb 2018, otherwise you won't be able to join another family plan.

No, you'll be able to change to your boyfriends account immediately. Sorry if I made a bit of confusion there. You just won't be able to switch back.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm still a bit confused. Which account do you
mean by new? Just to be clear, if I leave my parents' account now, I won't
be able to join my boyfriend's one now? I'll have to wait Feb 2018 to join
his?

No, you'll be able to change to your boyfriends account immediately. Sorry if I made a bit of confusion there. You just won't be able to switch back.
