My Question or Issue

My almost ex-husband and I have a family account. Is it possible to split our family account into two premium single accounts without losing any of our playlists, saved songs, etc.? How do you do this?

Hey @charm745, and welcome to the community.

Hope you're doing great!

To confirm, do you guys share a Family plan?

Keep me updated 🙂

Yes we do, so we would need to split to two individual premium plans.

Hey @charm745.

Thanks for the info!

If you or your husband is the owner of the Premium for Family plan, they will need to cancel the subscription following these steps:

  1. Log in to your subscription page
  2. Select CHANGE OR CANCEL.
  3. Here you can either choose to switch to another type of paid subscription such as standard Premium or Premium for Students or return to the free Spotify service.

After that, everyone will be removed from the plan, and from there you and your husband can each have an individual Premium plan.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to help 🙂

So if we follow those steps, will we both lose all of our playlists, saved music, etc.?

Hey @charm745,

Thanks for the reply!
No worries, when you follow the steps I provided in my last reply - you won't lose your playlists, saved music, or any other activity you've done in your account, except of course changing the subscription 🙂

If you need help with anything else, just let me know 🙂
