My Question or Issue

Hello,
For the past two months, I've been unable to mark several episodes of the same podcast as finished. I've been told by support that I'm part of a test group... As a result, my service has been downgraded without my consent, without any reduction in my subscription, and I'm simply asked to wait until the end of the tests. It's absurd. Am I the only one in this situation?
I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription or asking for a discount. And what's worse, they won't even give me a reporting number to follow up!

I’m sorry to hear this. Spotify is always testing and launching improvements and new features. This means you might see something on the app that your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily.

 

I’d recommend making sure that your app is up to date so you don’t miss out on any new additions and features. I’ll also make sure to pass your feedback on to the right folks.

Yes, of course — my app was fully updated on all three of my devices (Mac, iPhone, and iPad).

 

The issue is now resolved, after nearly ten message exchanges with six different support agents. The first five insisted it was an ā€œimprovementā€ to the service (wth…), until the sixth finally clarified that the feature allowing you to mark a podcast as ā€œfinishedā€ — which used to appear conveniently as a pop-up — has now been moved to the About this showsection, but only on iPhone (not on Mac — I guess that would be too convenient).

 

Hopefully, this helps others dealing with a downgraded version of the interface.
