How to switch family plans?

Hi there, 
my folks separated, I was removed from my stepdad's spotify family account (we just had it for a couple months)
Now my mom got a family subscription but I'm unable to accept the invitation (it says you can just change accounts one a year). What am I and my siblings supposed to do now? 
Can anyone help please and tell me how we can still join mom's family plan?

Hope you’re doing great!

As stated in the support article, you can only change accounts every 12 months.
