Kids and Wife Spotify account overrides Spotify

Kids and Wife Spotify account overrides Spotify

Plan

Premium Family Plan

Country

United States

Device

Echo Dot Kids

I recently bought my kid her own Echo Dot and upgraded to the Spotify family plan because I got tired of my kid interrupting my music session. When I set up her Echo Dot, I made sure to enable "Amazon Kids" under here device. Unfortunately, after adding her to the Spotify family plan, every time she asks Alexa to play something on her Spotify account it still interrupts my jam session (same goes for when my wife asks her Alexa to play something on her account).

I figured that she would need to create her own Spotify account, however, she is too young to open one. I've created her Spotify Kids profile as possible fix, but the Echo is still overriding my music. I have gone to Amazon Parent Controls and have activated her Spotify there and still nothing seems to stop her music from overriding mine.

Hey @Ismablaugrana,

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend taking a look at the "Can I use multiple Spotify accounts with Alexa?" section of this FAQ article. It explains how to use a different account on one Echo device basically. 🙂

Let me know how it goes!
