I just encountered the same bug while trying to sign up for Spotify and, after a little experimentation, determined that it's caused by including one or more hash signs ("#") in the password. I generated a new password which excluded that character and was able to sign up just fine.
This is clearly a bug in the signup form; hopefully, the Spotify engineers will be able to address it soon.

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.
The password must be at least 8 characters long. However, we'd recommend that you use a longer password with letters, capitals, numbers, and special characters. You can find some additional details on how to protect your account in this article.
If you've tried many times but continue to receive this error, you can try following some of the tips you can find in this thread. You can also try using an incognito window or a different device to see if that makes any difference.

We've tested this on our end and we were able to reproduce the issue. It's now being looked into by the relevant team. We'll keep you posted on any updates.
In the meantime, choose any password that works and update it to the desired one on your account page since the issue isn't present when you're updating it.

Hello, I am having this issue with short back up code error message and 6 digit verification as well not working. I reseted my account with new email and password. I also linked my account to my google and still I am not able to get into my Spotify Artist account. I want to turn off my 2-step verification is on Artist page on Spotify but it redirects me to log in and that 2-step verification is on keeps popping up. I went to my Safari & Chrome browser, still an issue. This seems to be more than 2 steps at this point. LOL! Please help!
