Local Files Not Syncing

Local Files Not Syncing

I'm currently on a premium family plan. I have used ever method and fix to attempt to sync my local files from my desktop to my iPhone but nothing has worked. Local network access is enabled on iPhone, as well as local files within the app and same with the desktop app. Does the family premium plan prevent me from being able to sync local files? My files always show up on the desktop and whenever I create a playlist for them and use the mobile app none of the songs appear but the playlist does.

Hi @stpnn,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

To start, please run a clean reinstall of the app, as this one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

After this, create an internet hotspot with your phone and connect your PC to it. Then, try to sync the files again.

Let us know how this goes!

Hey @ChristianBladeeFan,

Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂

Can you give us more details about your device's operating system? Keep in mind that files or downloads from illegal or unofficial sources are not permitted.

Make sure the files aren’t DRM-protected. We’d recommend reading this article to find out how.

Also, you can check these details to see if the inconvenience persists after double-checking all of them.

Keep us in the loop and don't hesitate to get back to us if you have any other questions.

Cheers!

Hey @th3sp1an,

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

Would you let us know what troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?

Keep in mind that also that the way local files work has changed recently. The synchronization between files from PC and your mobile devices over the network is no longer available. In order to play your own audio files within the Spotify app, they need to be physically present on your device's storage. You have to upload them following the steps in this article.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply!
