My Question or Issue

I am wanting to switch from Individual Premium to Family Premium.  I have followed the instructions:
log into app>account... however there is no option to "change account".

 

If i click on "available subscriptions" and select "family" it just bounces me back to my "individual Premium" page.

 

I have tried to cancel my subscription, in the hope that would then allow me to select a new plan... alas no.... it just asks me to log into my account, which i already am logged into.

 

 

I have also tried via a web browser, to switch, but when i click on account.. i get a page telling me that the account is managed by google play and to log into my app to switch from there.

 

Cmon spotify...it REALLY shouldn't be this difficult.

Thanks for reaching out.

 

If your subscription is currently managed by Google Play and you've already cancelled it, you'll need to wait until the account reverts to the free service in order to start another subscription with a different payment method. 

 

In case you're not trying to use a different payment method, you should be able to switch your subscription without any issues from the Spotify app > Settings > Premium plan > See available plans. If this is not working, could you give it a try using the app on a different phone to see if it makes any difference?

Hi,

I was trying to switch using the same payment method. But there is no
option to.

Surely you should be able to do this mid month, pay difference calculated
for remaining days etc....

Thank you for keeping in contact. 

 

The process to change the payment method can be done anytime you need, so if you're following the previous process, you should be able to change it. So in this case, since this could be related to different factors, would you mind checking if you've a VPN activated when doing the process? If so, turn it off and try again.

 

If there's no active VPN, we'd recommend trying on an incognito/private window or a different browser to see if it makes any difference. 


It's also worth trying on a different Wi-Fi network to see if it makes any difference. If you don't have another one, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.

I am having the same issue. Have you found a solution?

Sadly no.

 

Doesn't seem to be possible until my current plan expires.

 

However I will use the time to check out alternative streaming platforms, as I'm sure they'll want my £££
