upgrade to premium plan

I am trying desperately to pay money to Spotify to upgrade to a premium account but I just keep going in circles. The only plan available offers me a month free followed by a subscription. I enter my CC details then get a pop-up message saying I can't get the free month because I've already had a trial version in the past. That's fine. It's not the free month I want. I want a subscription and this is the only way I can get it. But it keeps just giving me the same error over and over and will not let me upgrade to a premium account because once upon a time years ago I tried a trial version. Is there no other way to have a CC subscription?
