My Question or Issue

I first got my student discount in April 2023. Then I had to cancel the subscription around August with the aim of changing the billing date. I then started a new subscription with the student discount around November. Today, May 2024, I got charged the normal premium price. What happened?

Hey there @Phumelele10,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

Keep in mind that the Student discount is valid for an uninterrupted period of 12 months. If you cancel your subscription for some time while the discount is still active, it will continue to run until the 12 months have passed. You were charged the full price because your discount has already expired.

If you're still a student, you can renew your discount (for up to 4 years) by following the steps in this article

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.

Hello, today I'm not in a good mood and actually angry after noticing that spotify took €9.99 from my bank account. After checking my spotify account, I got in shock, noticing that spotify changed my plan from student premium to basic one! I tried to switch it back as I already paid money, but changing to student again, they asked me to pay more. So it's ~16€ about. And if anyone questions NO, I didn't switch it, and NO, I'm still a student. It's my third year in college as a graphic designer, and my student loan is about 30€ a month. I am living in college dorms, which also costs 10€ a month. I'm literally crying because that was my last money, and now I don't have money to pay for my dorms, and tomorrow I need to pay, or they will kick me out. Thank you spotify for robbing a student I feel soo used.

I have a student premium plan, but I did not receive any notification indicating that I needed to renew it each year. As a result, my account was charged for the individual premium plan instead of switching to the free plan. I have now renewed my student premium plan, but I would like to request a partial refund for the payment I made this month for a plan that I did not request.

Hey @carcamoj,

If you believe you're eligible for a refund, we'd recommend reaching out to our folks backstage here. They'll be able to check your account and provide further help if possible.

Hello,
I have a student account and didn't get any mail telling me to renew it. So yesterday, I was charged for a Premium Account. I right now just changed it to a Student account and I am eligible, so my account is now a Student one.
So I was wondering if is there were any way to be refunded from spotify ? For crediting the double as the original price..?

Thanks very much for your time ❤️

My Question or Issue

I was surprised today that I was billed the premium individual amount although I have the student discount and I forgot that I have to renew my student status yearly. Is that possible that you could maybe refund me the extra amount for the premium individual plan? Also is it possible to send reminders about updating the student status before it expires? Thanks.

Hello I am a student and was receiving the student discount but forbthe past 3 months I was charge full premium price...how do I go about getting a refund?

I renewed my Spotify student account a couple months ago, but I found out today I just got charged the full price of the premium individual plan, despite being, to my knowledge at the time, a student plan. When I went to check my student plan, I realize it's not there anymore as I'm suddenly subbed as individual. Afterwards I tried to put my account back to the student version but I couldn't. I also saw that my next payment is supposed to be the student plan, despite Spotify saying I have an individual plan

My Question or Issue

I need to at least get my money back, also get the student plan back, as I'm probably not gonna pay for an individual plan, for financial reasons
