Renewing Spotify Student

Hello Spotify community, 

I am a student, and although Spotify promises that they send emails when your student discount is about to expire, I never got one, so I ended up paying for two whole months at full price. I want to open a case, or something of that nature to dispute spending $20 for two months, when I should've only paid $10. Any thoughts on this topic that are relevant would be cool. Is there a way to get money back from them? How long does it take, and how do you know forsure that the student rate has been applied?
