I had the 4.99 Spotify student account but now it's 9.99. I want to go back to the 4.99 account with the added Hulu without paying 14.99.

The student discount is only valid for 12 months at a time, this could be the reason why you were charged the 9.99.

To get the discount back up and running and get the Hulu bundle along with it, you just have to renew the discount here.
