I'd like to do the same. So I'm watching this post. I'm on a duo account with an X-boyfriend who has recently moved out. I just want my stuff back.

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to the community.

@Cloudninefive Can you confirm if you are pertaining to the family plan and what do you mean by wanting to use your own email? Considering you are on a Family plan...

  • Do you mean you are logging in using someone else's email and password?
  • Are you the plan organizer or a plan member? Or perhaps, a 'managed account'?

> If you are logging in using someone else's email and password, you can change the email to an email address you own then change the password afterward.

> If you are the plan organizer, you will have to cancel the plan first in order to switch your plan to an individual Premium plan.

> If you are a member of a Family plan, simply go to your account's settings to see the option to cancel/leave the current Family plan.

> If you are using a 'managed account', an account that does not require an email and password to login, you need to go to your account's settings and request to change your account from a managed account to a regular user account. Ask the plan manager to check their email address for an email confirmation from Spotify and accept or approve your request. Once they approve your request, you will then be able to convert the account to a regular user account and start adding your email address and password.

@twirlinbutterfly You can cancel/leave the duo plan then subscribe to the individual Premium plan once the account is on Free plan.

Hope this helps.
