Science never said that covid vaccines would reduce the chance to get infected to zero. Instead, the promise was that a proper vaccination cover would reduce the probability to get infected. Which has turned out to be the case. Even more importantly, science said that vaccinated people would have a significantly smaller probability of getting a serious version of covid, of ending up on intensive care or of dying of covid. All of which have turned out to be completely true.

However, talking about these facts to people who fail to grasp basic mathematical concepts such as probabilities seems completely useless. Dummies will remain dummies.
