New Shuffle is Funky?

So Spotify released a "true shuffle" mode accesible through settings, which is great, as shuffle seems to prioritise the songs that I sometimes select manually. But "true shuffle" doesn't seem random? I just turned it on and it is playing what had previously played in shuffle but in reverse order. I have checked over multiple songs. Has anyone else had this issue?
