Option to disable "si" tracking parameters in shared links

I am requesting a toggle in the "Privacy Social" settings to disable the automatic inclusion of the ?si= parameter when sharing links to tracks, albums, or playlists.

The Problem: Currently, the si parameter acts as a persistent tracker that identifies the specific user who shared the link. This data is used to suggest "social connections" without explicit consent, often linking users' personal profiles to strangers or professional contacts unintentionally.

The Solution: Give users a "Clean Sharing" option or a "Privacy Mode" for links. If users want to participate in social discovery, they can leave it on. If they want to share music privately without being tracked or linked to the recipient, they should be able to opt-out.

Why it matters: Many users consider this "shadow tracking" a breach of privacy. Other platforms allow for clean link sharing; Spotify should prioritize user privacy over forced social graphing.

Hey @agrberg

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Spotify Community.

I agree, this could be a great feature to give users the control over their privacy. If you'd like you can go ahead and create an idea about this on the relevant idea board. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

I also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
