I want to complain about the usage of AI in Spotify. It has made my listening experience decline significantly since Spotify has fired a mass amount of employees and resorted to using AI. For instance, the DJ replays the same songs over and over and over again. When shuffling my Liked Songs, the Spotify algorithm also plays the same songs over and over again. Despite having almost 2,000 songs liked, I almost never hear a large majority of those songs unless I play them manually myself. But SPotify does not truly shuffle my Liked Songs. Additionally, the Daylist and personal made mixes for me also contain the same songs every single day. All of the features that Spotify says makes them better than other music streaming platforms, are the exact features that continue to fail daily. To add to that, Spotify has now increased the price of a standard subscription, but have done nothing to improve their app or platform. My Spotify listening experience is by far less than satisfactory. That’s just a couple of issues in the long list of issues Spotify has started presenting since AI has taken over.
To add to this, when I tried to vocalize this exact issue via a Spotify Support Chat, I was directed to add my “feedback” here. Then was immediately disconnected from Mary-Lou T.
I expressed to the Support Agent that I want to file a formal complaint, they asked what my complaint was, then directed me to another website and disconnected our chat immediately. Not giving me a chance to respond or ask any additional questions.
It should not be this difficult to get in contact with a human being and have a conversation. But this is the reality of companies firing all of their employees and letting AI take over all the “mundane” and “tedious” tasks. Spotify is an amazing example of how quickly a platform/app will crumble when there aren’t any real people running the platform!! And how angry your customers will get and how much business you will lose. 🙂 you should listen to your customers, not try to shove them in a queue for AI to deal with so you can ignore them and collect your extra bonus check for firing half your staff.
I am dissatisfied also. I pay for Premium Individual and my iphone keeps telling me to but PREMIUM. Lately all characters are in Russian and I do not know why. Has made the whole experience frustrating. Also no way to contact anyone at Spotify. WYF!!
Spotify sucks so bad now. I have complained and complained and deleted and reloaded multiple times on all of my devices. It still sucks. If you figure out a way out of their tangled algorithm web, let me know.
Spotify is the stinking example of why AI is going to be the demise of everything good.
I agree 100% and stop making them "Artist Verified"
I wish that Spotify would allow me to modify the Start Page (or Home Screen). Also, as Amazon does, I wish that Spotify would allow me to click a button on a podcast or song and say "Do not use for recommendations". If you listen to something onec, and you don't like it, you receive endless recommendations for things that are similar. It is really frustrating and the reason that I've stopped using Spotify for podcasts all together. I use Apple now and I love it.
I just had a really frustrating experience with Spotify Support and I need to vent a bit.
So I’m on the Premium for Students plan, my student status is already verified until November 2026, and I’ve always been paying manually every month. No auto-renew, just one-time payments whenever I want. This even let me stack months before without any issue.Now suddenly, I can’t pay at all.Whenever I try to renew or top up, it doesn’t take me to a checkout page anymore. It just shows a message saying I’m verified as a student until 2026 and that’s it. No button, no payment option, nothing. Just stuck there.
So I contact support thinking this should be a quick fix.At first it’s just automated replies telling me to “get Premium Students” again, which I’ve already done. Then I finally get connected to a real person. Or at least I thought it was a real person.They check my account and tell me my last payment was Feb 28 and the next one is March 28. Okay… but that’s not the issue. I ask if I can top up now like before.
They say the system will charge me automatically.I explain again that I don’t have auto-renew enabled and I’ve been doing one-time payments manually this whole time.
They respond with “when you sign up you accept auto-renew” and tell me to check my bank app.
That’s where it started to feel pointless. I kept explaining that I literally cannot access the payment page anymore. It’s not about the bank, it’s about Spotify not letting me reach checkout.I can open checkout pages for other plans like Individual or Family just fine. It’s only the Student plan that’s broken for me.
Instead of actually looking into that, they just repeated the same thing about monthly billing and automatic charges again.
At that point it honestly felt like I was talking to a bot stuck on repeat. Anyway, I gave up on the chat because it was going nowhere.If anyone else has run into this or knows how to fix it, please let me know.
