Playlist plays the same songs over and over

Why won't my playlists play through all the songs included before repeating certain songs? It would be nice if the songs played were retained and not repeated until all songs included in the playlist have been played.

Playlist shuffle

When I put my playlist on shuffle, it seems to play some songs frequently. I like the songs, but there’s about a dozen songs that will play several times a week.
