Hi all, I was under the impression that using Spotify music content in games was prohibited as per the Spotify Dev policy III.2 'Do not create a game, including trivia quizzes.'
Any idea how this game might have gotten around the rules?

Was looking to build something similar, but was put off by the policy mentioned above.
Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to provide.

It reminds me a bit of how toca boca games handle creative content they provide a structured, playful environment while carefully navigating restrictions around user-generated content. I also have the same question and have been confused by this too. Iโve read the Spotify Dev policy and it does seem to explicitly restrict using Spotify music in games, including things like trivia or interactive experiences. Thatโs why sites like songtrivia2. io made me wonder how theyโre operating without running afoul of the rules.
