Integrating Spotify into a timer app

Hi I was wondering if you could answer a quick question for me. 

I am building a timer app and I wanted to add a feature in which a spotify  user can link their spotify playlist to the app and play their music while the timer goes. Does spotify allow this (especially since it is an app with a different functionality altogether and the spotify user can link their playlist to enjoy ome music while using the app). The app will be released for commercial use so I wanted to make sure that I wont be breaking any rules by integrating spotify into the app. Thanks for your feedback!
