My Question or Issue

Hi! I built a custom arduino device using the /player API to change tracks on Spotify Connect speakers at home. It's works great with the exception of any SONOS device. I am still able to see the currently playing info, but am unable to instruct any track change commands. I did a bit of digging, and it seems that this is a limitation with SONOS devices, and having to use the SONOS API rather. 

Am not quite sure I understand why though, since the standard Spotify apps on both iOS and Android are able to instruct player commands through Connect to SONOS devices. 

Could you please help with understanding why this is so? Am I perhaps doing something incorrectly?
