Playlist add items skip duplicates in Web API

I, along with many others, would like to see a Web API endpoint for checking if a playlist contains() a given track, as posted here on this github issue tracker. This would be useful for prompting the user if they would like to skip adding a duplicate song to playlist as the Spotify desktop client currently does.
