Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs

We have been using those SDKs since they became available.

Our particular app (Amazing Slow Downer) lets the user play music more slowly, since a couple of years ago also songs from Spotify. The "ios-streaming-sdk" is a beautifully designed framework that lets an audio developer do practically everything needed.
In our case it makes it possible to access the raw audio samples and this way process the sound and then playback the processed audio using our regular audio playback engine. With your new SDK this is not possible. It might be that the "ios-streaming-sdk" is more difficult to use for an average developer but that also makes it more powerful.

We have many users that uses Spotify. Many users switch from other streaming services such as "Apple Music", Tidal, Amazon Music etc to Spotify just to be able to slow down streaming music in real time.

We believe our app gives Spotify many many new subscribers, so many that it would actually pay off for Spotify to maintain the "ios-streaming-sdk".

We only use "playlist" functions and after fixing a couple of bugs in the "metadata framework" available on github, everything works 100%. Although there are certainly some bugs in the “ios-streaming-sdk”, they are very few and don’t affect our app.

We also have an Android version of our app that uses your Android streaming SDK and it also works very good.

We believe Spotify will loose thousands of users, so many that the minimal cost Spotify need to spend on maintenance will pay off manifold.

Since our app also supports playback and slowing down of streaming Apple Music, many of our users will probably switch from subscribing to Spotify to subscribing to Apple Music.

You write:

"After September 1st, important functionality in the streaming SDKs will stop working."
Exactly what does that mean? What part of the SDK will continue to work?

Please continue supporting iOS/Android streaming SDKs!

this is a great app, very useful for musicians. It's crazy that Spotify has banned it - please reinstate it or I'll look for an alternate music streaming platform 😞

I’m a professional musician who relies on Amazing Slow Downer to support the development of my musical practice. Please reconsider 🤞🏼

FYI, Apple Music does not permit pitch changes (I tried it myself and only tempo changes are permitted), but you CAN pitch-shift anything you buy through iTunes or obtain on your own (ie, rip from CD).

Please continue to allow this feature.  I’m a professional musician and use this daily.  If this ceases to work, I’ll be forced to cancel Spotify and use Apple Music so that I can continue to use this app.

Amazing Slow Downer is what it says - amazing! It allows me to practise string quartets because I can play along at my speed, not professional speed!

PLEASE allow ASD to continue using Spotify streaming so amateur musicians can carry on improving. It's one of the main reasons I have Spotify. Don't make me cancel my subscription!

Apple Music allows the use of amazing slow downer

I use Spotify solely due to its integration with Amazing Slow Downer.   I have no problem switching to Apple Music other than the hassle of the few hours of time I'll burn recreating my playlists.   If Amazing Slow Downer ceases to work with Spotify on the first of September I will cancel my Spotify subscription and move to Apple.  If Spotify reconsiders their position after I move to Apple it will be too late.  I will not waste additional time on this nonsense.

This app have help me so much in so many ways, it’s the only reason that I am a spotify subscriber. If spotify won’t fully work with pitch and tempo changes I will probably not continue my subscription and use another service.

Amazing Slow Downer and its seamless integration with Spotify if a huge reason I use the app. As a singer, ASD has been instrumentally in helping me learn and practice new songs. Hopefully you guys will reconsider! I don't want to go to another app that continues to allow this function 😕

Please do not remove this functionality it enables a crucial tool (amazing slow downer) for musicians.

I am a musician and have been using the Amazing Slow Downer software for 12 years to study closely the nuances in recorded music, especially in may Spotify library. If Spotify will no longer support Amazing Slow Downer, I will definitely move over to Apple Music which is compatible.

I am a musician and rely heavily on the Amazing Slowdowner app. This change will really rock my world in a bad way. Please reconsider it!! Otherwise I'll have to look for a new streaming service.

The ability to use spotify with the ASD app is incredibly useful, and losing it would be very unfortunate. I hope this decision gets reversed.

Amazing Slowdowner is an important tool in my daily job as music teacher. If Spotify shots Down access to this app I will have to switch to Apple Music

Like the others, I use this all the time to practice my bass. Why are you changing this? Do I have to switch to Apple Music? (which will be my whole family, not just me). Please reconsider.

I love the combination of the slow downer and Spotify - and it's one of the main reasons for me to use Spotify. Would be too bad if this feature would get lost!

Spotify, please reconsider continuing to support SDK’s. I use the Amazing slow her down her almost every day, it is easily the most musician friendly way to transcribe music, and it’s the sole reason I have a subscription. I will definitely be canceling my Spotify subscription if this is not resolved.

I am an aspiring jazz pianist trying to improve my playing and have found Amazing Slowdown immensely invaluable. No other product lets me learn from the great pianists on Spotify such as McCoy Tyner, or saxophonists such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane.  Please do not end this fountain of knowledge!!!!!

Please please please reconsider this decision!!! I have no doubt a significant portion of the artists you host on your platform would credit transcription as a very important piece of their musical development. This decision is certainly not the action of an organization or business who is interested in spreading the future of music and musicianship. I can’t imagine how giving your permission to this app could affect your bottom line in a negative way.

As a music educator I am using Amazing Slow Downer daily in my lessons. I beg Spotify to let me continue accessing their music tracks.
